With this project we wanted to venture into a different realm, and leave our "comfort zone" (luxury and ultra-luxury imports). With the exception of the C5 Corvette, all of our projects are from the same genre of vehicles. In the end the Gallardo was chosen due to its all around ease of operation, comfort, reliability, and resale value. Of course its drop dead gorgeous styling and pearl yellow paint don't hurt. The Spyder was chosen over the coupe for aesthetic reasons, and to further exclusivity.
The car is a really strong performer and the E-Gear shifts are blindingly fast in sport mode. The 4wd has a rear wheel bias so the car is very easily drifted around corners. For 2006 there were a wealth of upgrades to the Gallardo but the most important is the exhaust. The OEM exhaust is valvetronic and it fully bypasses the muffler boxes above 4k rpms!!!! The sound must seriously be heard to appreciate.
With such a extroverted vehicle, we did not want to "overdo it" with extreme tacked on kits and glue on fender flares, so we kept it relatively simple. The rear lip on this car is a full inch larger than typical Gallardo applications!
